I cried, laughed, and sighed over the story as it moves over the course of about 30 years. We fell in love with the small town of Big Stone Gap in Virginia and all of the wonderful people who lived there.
I really loved this story. They are some unexpected outcomes at times, but events interlink cursively. But soon after, Ciro is sent to America he caught the priest kissing a girl to apprentice as a shoemaker. Trigiani’s novel wive a couple from Italy who move to the Iron Range between the two world wars.

I was pulled right into the story of 2 tigiani boys abandoned by their mother who was ill and could not care for them. Thank you for signing up, fellow book lover! The reader can hear the goats in the mountains, smell the ocean in the harbor, immerse into the hustle and bustle trigiaji the NYC streets at the turn of the century, feel the grit and soot of the factories as well wjfe experience the glitz and glam of the opera house.
But I got used to it. Cover, title, synopsis, all three captivated me and made me want to drop everything and read it right away. Meanwhile, Enza learns how to survive in New York City with the help of a steady friend and her own unparalleled sewing skills.

Seriously, The Shoemaker’s Wife by Adriana Trigiani just seriously took every one of shoemakerrs expectations of Adriana from reading previous novels of hers and slapped them around and made me sit up and pay attention. As far as the story goes, I enjoyed it enough to give it 5 stars.
